Setting Your New Producers Up for Success
One of the hardest aspects of business, in general, is recruitment. When you’ve hired a new producer, it’s essential to provide them with the right resources and training to excel. We spoke to Jeff Hogue, Direct of Agent Sales at QuoteWizard, about what top agents do to successfully recruit and hire new producers. Here’s what Jeff recommends when it comes to hiring new producers:
Training to Excel
It’s key to set up new hires with relevant training and important information right away. A Sales Management Association study shows that firms that efficiently brought new employees up to speed had 10 percent greater sales growth rates and 14 percent better sales and profit objective achievement. By providing new hires with a consistent training program, you’re providing them with the necessary resources to learn about the company and start with success.
Jeff Hogue recommends recording calls made by more experienced employees, then letting your new hires listen to them as an example. Once they have the recorded calls as a baseline, they can develop their own sales style and continue to grow.
Learning from Internet Leads
According to Hogue, especially when it comes to internet leads, you shouldn’t hire brand new employees and throw them into the workplace without sufficient training. This is partly because internet leads are one of the highest effort leads, with multiple systems and processes that need to be established.
Hogue discussed how employees new to internet leads need to learn about topics such as lead management and automation. This learning curve can come with lots of trial and error, even if training is provided, so it’s essential to take steps to best set them up for success.
Hogue recommends buying leads before the new producer joins your team so that you can set up an established workflow that they can step into and continuously take on. He also advises setting and tracking goals for content and skills mastery. Through establishing expectations, setting up checkpoints to measure progress, and providing coaching, you’re setting them up with resources to learn and grow as they continue to improve.
As you bring new producers into your company, providing them with the proper training and information is critical in setting them up to succeed. By bringing new employees up to speed efficiently, you can boost productivity, help them to excel, and strengthen your company as a whole.
